22nd June: Shopping Once Again!

To avoid the increase in GST, Allo and i decided to buy our first washing machine and fridge. Our new fridge must definitely have automatic ice maker function and cost less than $1000.
Was feeling sick on that day, i pick up allo from BoonLay station and we decided to check out Kong Tai at jurong west ave 1 mkt for out new fridge and washer. . After parking my car, we proceed to Kong Tai but walk past maximum credit. Hmmmm, i was telling allo, why not we check out the price first before proceeding to Kong Tai...?

Hitachi S37-SVS Stainless Steel going for $940...!!!! And our target washer, toshiba 7.5kg was going for $380... Hmmm cheap cheap cheap.... Hmmm, no impulsive buying, lets go to Kong Tai first.
Reaching Kong Tai, wahhhhhhh!!!! Why is it so crowded while maximum credit is so quiet?? Browse around and finally decided to approach their salesman for help. Hah, the salesman we approached was from hitachi and bingo, just what we need. As usual, we exchanged pointers with the salesman and realised that toshiba washer consumes more electricity than most generic brands. So we decided to drop toshiba's idea and it was easy for us to make a decision. I'm going for a top-load japanese brand washer within my budget and therefore Samsung & LG are definitely out. European brand are more expensive and no no for us too. It go down to Sanyo, Sharp, Hitachi and Toshiba. Sharp is too costly, sanyo look flimsy and toshiba consume more power. Set!!!, we decided to buy Hitachi SF-80GJ.

Next up, hitachi bridge, check out the price but it more expensive than maximum credit by $20. But i know that Kong Tai is hitachi authorised dealer while maximum credit is not. After bargaining with the salesman, we settled the fridge for $950. Although cost $10 more than maximum credit, we feel safer buying from Kong Tai. So after 1 hour of deep thinking, we confirmed the fridge and washer and paid the deposit. Goods to be deliver to us on 30th June. Hehe, guess another round of waiting in our new house.
